It is supposed to keep the heat on and continuous. According to the Brewers Edge website, it should be kept at 218 degrees during the boil, even if the boil happens at lower temperatures. Hopefully I will never have to reset after putting water in the kettle!Ĩ. I agree with other reviewers about the reset on the bottom of the kettle.

There's a bit of a learning curve in terms of adjusting the sparge water volume and not running the pump dry (it changes pitch when it starts encountering a problem).ħ. The 3 degree mash temperature variability was wonderful compared to stove top mashing! I really liked having the ability to keep temperature throughout the mashing without worry!Ħ I love the pump, which circulates the water through the mashing process. I can see why people complained about this so it may be that I didn't have a problem because my system is new and I could see the markers clearly.ĥ. I didn't have any problems with seeing the gallon markers while doing the sparge. When do you ever use the 1000W switch? Apparently, the 1000W is good if your power supply doesn't have enough amps otherwise you can keep it at 1600W.Ĥ. I was confused with the 1000W vs 1600W switch. The plastic protectors are only for shipping!ģ. These screws have plastic protectors that need to be removed prior to mashing. The sparging basket has screws that hold it in place on top of the brewing kettle. I have to stand on the countertop to lift the sparging basket after the mash.Ģ. Something to consider if you are brewing on a countertop with overhanging cupboards. The sparging basket fits on top of the brewing kettle for draining but it is very tall (3' 7"). The instructions were sparse but easy to follow and I really enjoy the convenience and ability to brew close to the water supply for the cool down.
